2010 Hardy’s Eileen Hardy Tasmania Pinot Noir

eileen_hardy_pinot_noir1-85x300I like the Eileen Hardy Chardonnay most years but I can’t say I’m personally taken with the Pinot Noir. It’s a showy wine built to impress…and impress many it will. There’s no lack of fully flavoured fruit and it’s coated in sexy if obvious oak.

It smells of sweet wood, strawberry jam, lush framboise and sour cherries. Underneath all of that is some sap and a good twist of pepper. Creamy through the palate, slightly lacking in depth and a bit one-dimensional – although it does that one thing well enough. Splays languidly on the palate, all velvet like and liquored up. I’m sure it will age and even evolve. Take your pleasure should you wish. 92 Very Good
