2010 Brand’s Laira August Tide Dry Red

brands 001Old fashioned, hearty fare. Maybe even a little crass but enjoyable just the same. Slathered with chocolate custard oak that takes a day to integrate. Then the wine fleshes out, all smooth full-bodied and plush. Roughly two-thirds Merlot, the rest Cabernet.

Malt, blackcurrants and mulberries, pepper and cinnamon along with a little mint lift. Quite fine tannin sinks into the wine as it opens up. A bit of warmth on the finish but if you enjoy drinking this kind of style then I doubt it will bother you. 91 Good
