There aren’t a lot of great sub $20 Pinot Noirs out there. Usually you’re looking at a fruit-driven style without great length or complexity. If it’s varietal, you’ve probably done well. And this is varietal.
The nose is slightly confected with raspberry and glacé cherries dominating. On the palate there’s more savoury nous as welcome undergrowth provides a pleasing counterpoint. Some tannin and spice on conclusion. A touch wiry and lacking in intensity but not bad all up. 87 Average
