2011 Swinging Bridge Reserve Chardonnay

swinging bridge reserve chardonnayI reckon Swinging Bridge winemaker Tom Ward is on a winner here – although I’ll be interested to see how others react to it. It’s not short of character or intrigue.

I find the nose beguiling. Nectarine, orange blossom and mandarin with all sorts of fascinating subtleties edging their way into the equation; Parmesan rind, resin, marmalade and smoked poultry amongst the assorted wildness. Oak is but a bit player on a savoury and tangy palate that has terrific reach and an angular visage. I’m sold on it. 93 Very Good
