Wild yeasts, predominantly old French oak and a bit of lees stirring. A characterful but ultimately unconvincing wine.
Throws up exotic and at times just plain weird aromas. Tangerine, botrytis-like apricot nectar, rubber, melon and something that reminds me of polished old brass instruments. Plenty of leesy depth and that stirring has also built some palate weight. There are suggestions of smoked turkey and bitter greens amongst the fruit. It’s mostly a ball of wild, upfront flavour that fades on the back-end. 86 Average
