Seems you can pick up the new Cuvée No.501 for about $37 if you look around. Impressive value at that price although it isn’t quite as good a wine as Cuvée No.401. Perhaps a touch drier and the acidity isn’t the finest.
Very much an Ed Carr sparkling. Intense with some mid-palate richness supported by ample structure. Plenty of zippy lemon, under-stated brioche autolysis characters, candied almonds, oyster shell and cherry pips. Some chalky grip on the back-palate. 91+ Good – Very Good
