A frustrating wine for me. I like Wirra Wirra and believe they are heading in a very positive direction, but their Rosé seems to be satisfied with mediocrity. Now, I don’t have any statistics but I suspect it sells very well. That may explain things.
There’s a sense of sweetness and an annoying stickiness on the palate that makes it difficult to enjoy. It stutters along with red fruits, confected notes and a hint of spice before a slightly attentuated conclusion. The residual sugar is only 2.4g/l so technically its dry and there is some acidity but I don’t much like the mouthfeel. Just too clumsy and ordinary I think. 86 Average
