A product of a wet, cool year for sure but a succesful one at that. I’m not overly fond of generalisations about the quality of the 2011 vintage. I’ve seen too many highs and lows.
There are definitive herbal notes on the nose and palate but they sit comfortably alongside brambly berries and juicy fruits. In no way is this under-ripe. It is spicy though. Plenty of black pepper. Acidity is lively but nestled into the flavours on offer with a mere rub of tannin on the finish. A quality, savoury quaffer. 90 Good
