Funnily enough I preferred drinking this entry-level Chapel Hill Shiraz over the standard release from the lauded 2010 vintage. It’s not as complete a wine and it doesn’t have the same length or depth but that juicy flavour without excess weight or oak sucks me in.
There’s some leaf matter on the nose and palate but it’s balanced by sweeter plum and mulberry fruit. Suggestions of milk chocolate, rock salt and a well measured amount of crushed brown spice. Flows well too. Plenty of value and pleasure on offer here. 89 Good
