2011 Chapel Hill il Vescovo Tempranillo

The rise and rise of Australian Tempranillo, eh? Can’t say I get it. Most of it tastes fairly average to me. Consumers want a piece of it though, so it’s nice to able to recommend one.

Flesh and form on offer. Brambly berried fruits, savoury herbs, licorice and tar. There’s some richer dark chocolate and plenty of dusty spice as well. No 2011 hard edges. Too many Oz Temps have those sort of beginner’s blocks Lego tannins and I find them quite unsightly. No such problems here. The texture is charming from start to finish – and it’s pretty much ready to go now. Not a complicated wine but tasty and succesful. 91 Good – Very Good

  1. Jesse says:

    Agree – great little Temp

  2. I emptied the entire bottle. That doesn’t often happen when it comes to Aus Temps and me :)
