A small slice of Jura in McLaren Vale. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If your Albariño turns out to be Savagnin then mature the juice in oak barrels under a thin veil of flor yeast. This was intensely nutty when I first tasted it in McLaren Vale a couple of months ago. There was also talk amongst the winemakers present about the sulfur still needing time to settle post-bottling. It’s not quite as nutty now but it’s just as intriguing.
Almond kernels, orange peel and citrus oils on the nose. Smells great. It’s somewhere between creamy and waxy texturally speaking with grippy phenolics, submerged stone fruits and Turkish apricots surfacing at different times. A little black tea too. Salty on the finish, savoury all-round. You could go 90 or 91 on this but I’ll opt for the latter as it excited me and I personally found it delicious. 91 Good – Very Good

I was 92.
I suppose you could go 92 as well
Buy you couldn’t go 93, I don’t think. Could you?
I most certainly couldn’t. Someone probably will though…
So if you were someone else, you’d go 90, but since you’re you, you’re going 91?
Yeah, that’s pretty much it.
I went 92.
But could you go 91?
That’s the last time I use the proverbial “You”. It’s as bad as the Royal “We”.
could one go a whole bottle, or just one glass?
At 500ml one could certainly go a whole bottle. I did.
