Something of a beginner’s Hunter Shiraz but a fine example of that. Might ease a few consumers into the region’s style. It’s medium bodied with an acid backbone and some latent earth.
The fruit is a touch sweet and confected – plums, raspberry coulis and cherries – and the structure is less imposing than the choice single vineyard De Iuliis 2011 releases. It is polished and highly drinkable though. Well seasoned with spice on the back-palate too. A nice ‘drink now’ expression. 90 Good
