2010 Dowie Doole Cabernet Sauvignon

These Dowie Doole wines are so unforced, unpretentious and honest. The fruit is allowed to speak and what it has to say is simply worth hearing. There’s little in the way of oak detectable here. It’s a bloody refreshing take on the variety. Full of verve.

Blackcurrant, mint, hay and dried herbs wind their way around an impressive spine of acidity. Spiced red peppers grace the finish as the smell of violets lingers in the air. Dusty but long tannin draws out the flavour on the back palate. For those who have trouble with the stern character of many Cabernets this may provide the perfect antidote. Elegant and highly drinkable. 92 Very Good
