It seems I might have to add the Deen De Bortoli label to the Windy Peak and Yalumba’s Y Series as reliable recommendations for inexpensive table wines. Mind you, it’s germane to point out that these Deen Vat wines are more rugged and generally sweeter.
Plush plums and blackberries with vanilla/coffee oak. Nutmeg, pepper and cinnamon spice as well. Quite a deal of grainy, slightly astringent tannin but it works as a plus here. Manages to avoid being gaudy. A pleasant quaffer no doubt. 88 Good
