Poor Petit Verdot. A useful blender but generally left out in the cold as a straight varietal wine. Funnily enough, it’s the best of the new Deen De Bortoli red wine releases this time around.
Signature violets, mulberries and blackberries with plummy depth and coffee cream oak. Lavishly fruited and oh so smooth until grainy tannin roughs it up on the back-palate. Hints of dried herbs on exit. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of this with roast lamb for dinner. 89 Good
