2012 Oliver’s Taranga Small Batch Fiano

Vermentino gets all the press and has had the most succesful marketing campaign but it’s Fiano that’s by far the more exciting grape. It’s spiritual home is Campania and Sicily but it’s settling into the Vale comfortably as well.

Look, there are apples, nuts and bread and honeysuckle here. Even a subtle herbaceousness. But flavours play second fiddle to texture. It’s how it feels in the mouth that makes it so special. A fine line of acidity with just the right amount of curves on a medium bodied palate. It’s almost hard to bring yourself to swallow – in the best possible way. Very Good – Excellent
