2011 Giant Steps Arthurs Creek Vineyard Chardonnay

There’s some great information on each of the individual Giant Steps vineyards on their website, so I won’t regurgitate that this year. I covered it last year and I don’t think the vineyards have moved since then…

If you’re looking for character and body, it’s hard to go past the Arthurs Creek Chardonnay. It’s cheesier and funkier, with pulpy fruit flavour and a bit of weight on the palate. Nectarine flesh, figs, white peach, lemon drops and grapefruit. It’s not backwards in coming forward. Well pitched toasty oak and plenty of textural appeal. Perhaps not quite as much length as the other two but that’s mostly quibbling. Very Good – Excellent
