Smell the wood. Old fashioned stylings and a warm year. It’s got a bit of bling on it but I can’t see a great deal of appeal here myself; especially given the price. I guess it’s not as soupy, thick and unbalanced as it might be but I hope we’re moving on from this sort of expression of Shiraz in Australia.
Aromas of vanilla and bourbon oak, blackcurrants, baked plums, licorice, brown spice and more coffee cream oak. Did I mention that the fruit is smothered in oak? There’s some soy and malt here too and a slight movement to bottle aged leather. If this is what you like, go for it. It’s not for me, that’s for sure. Average – Good
