“This, the best, most concentrated shiraz of the vintage was selected from The Ridge, a small part of our Griffin Road home vineyard. Hand picked and naturally fermented by wild yeasts in small open fermenters at our brand new Wallace Lane winery, matured in small French oak for eighteen months”
Tasted amongst a bracket of eight Shirazes and stood out for its character and complexity. It needs more time to show at its best but I like what’s already on offer. Sweet red fruits and spiced, roasted capsicum with a fair clip of mocha flavoured French oak framing it. Plenty of fine tannic structure and it’s nicely seasoned with cool climate pepper and Indian spice. Much to admire and a favourable future ahead. Very Good
