A bold Mourvèdre from Chapel Hill; it’s full bodied but shapely thanks to the vice like grip of the variety’s tannins. It takes a little air for that constriction to take place but once it does it’s a perfect blend of hedonism and form.
Blueberry, dark chocolate and kirsch flavours wrap themselves around a heart of earth and iron. Asian spice and char-grilled meats come along for the ride. So much depth, so many layers and all within an overall framework that is balanced and composed. There’s no new oak or excess heat getting in the way here. An expression of Mourvèdre that is wondrous and delicious. Excellent
