2011 Jamsheed Harem Series Pepé le Pinot

I’m hopefully catching up with Jamsheed winemaker Gary Mills for dinner and a few sly drinks when he flies into Brisbane town in August. Hopefully he doesn’t clock me for my review of the ’11 La Syrah. I’m solidly built but he has all the height and reach…

This is a wild little Pinot Noir – dirty and earthy and fun. Really perfumed. Sour cherries, the old forest floor, lavender and sap. A clip of exotic spice and a suggestion of rhubarb and chocolate. Long stemmy tannin and jaunty, brisk acidity. Another Harem beauty that won’t cost you the earth. Slug it back now. Very Good
