More serious in style than the 2010 Red Claw Chardonnay and will improve with a couple of years in the bottle but…it’s enjoyable to drink now as well. There’s a forwardness here to ensure that.
The full trifecta of raspberry, cherry and strawberry with hints of darker fruit and sarsaparilla. Twiggy notes and a pleasant sourness play foil to the richer, upfront fruit component. The structure is quite tight with acid and tannin at first but give it some air and a more welcoming texture greets you. Good spicy length too. Not a shy Pinot – should match well with weightier dishes. Lamb even. Very Good

Seems fantastic value – especially when compared to another PN reviewed here recently. I’ve always liked the approachibility of the Red Claw range, whilst respecting the longevity of the Yabby Lake brand.
Yep, lots of value on offer here – with the Chardonnay too, but the Pinot is more in my preferred style. You’re spot on re approachability of RC vs longevity of the Yabby Lakes. It’s a sensible approach in my opinion.
