2010 Swinging Bridge Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

There’s nothing that ‘reserved’ about this wine. And so far, from the other opinions I’ve read, there’s nothing ‘reserved’ about the way people respond to it. It may just be a polarising kind of wine. Personally, I really like it.

It’s well balanced and handles its alcohol well. There is a lushness to it but there’s a touch of elegance in there too. Smells of super fresh blackberry over Cassis, mint, capsicum, tobacco and ferns. Cherry high tones are an absolute pleasure on the palate, as are dark chocolate shavings and orange tinged acidity. Proper Cabernet tannin – savoury, long and fine. Creamy oak is measured and thoroughly complimentary. Beautiful structure all up. Those mint and fern notes might throw some people off but I didn’t have an issue with them. Reckon it will age well too. Very Good – Excellent

Totally agree with your assessment. It’s both elegant and lush and that’s what makes this wine interesting.

  2. Thanks Julian. That’s certainly what caught my attention about the wine.
