Even the Magical Mystery Tour must end. This is the final ‘Local Vineyard’ Chardonnay to be reviewed on WWEI. It’s a good’un too. Where’s Barkala Ridge? In the South/South-East of the Yarra Valley.
Shy on the nose. Spicy and steely on opening before white flowers enter the frame with pebbles strewn amongst them. Oak, as always, sits in the wings. It’s tangy with lemon and lime. Perhaps the most impressive element is the length…although that minerality is pretty cool too. I reckon this will age a treat – but then again, all four of these wines will. It’s all in the way they are made and the sites from which they are sourced. Excellent

Nice set of reviews. Always great to compare single vineyard wines from the same winemaker. Terroir at its most vivid. Wine wanker heaven
Thanks Andrew. I’m nothing if not a wine wanker
