“It Was The Sound Of A
Crescendo
He Came Into Her Apartment
He Left The Bloodstains On
The Carpet”- Michael Jackson
From the sublime to the ridiculous. I certainly wouldn’t be calling this a claret. It’s profoundly coloured, full-bodied, rich, sumptuous, complex and in its own way quite demanding. Having said that, I’m very fond of it.
There’s so much depth, so much going on here. Cassis, iron, pepper, allspice, molasses, nutmeg, violets and coffee for starters. Fruit freshness is an achievement considering the warmth of the vintage. Cedary oak with some chewed pencils and dark chocolate linger on the back palate. This has a commanding presence yet it avoids being too heavy in the mouth. It’s one smooth criminal. Very Good
