Judging from the Yalumba website, we’re onto the next vintage of this. Best get a note on it up now. Terrific value, as is so often the case with Barossa Grenache.
Certified “Old Vine” fruit – under the Barossa Old Vine Charter that indicates 35 years of age or more. Lively aromatics. Raspberry jubes, clove and cinnamon spice, pepper and earth with a little lavender surfacing later on. Silky mouthfeel with a nice line of acid. Tannin is fine and chewy. Lots of red licorice on the palate and oak is no more than a bit player. It’s quite sweet on entry but that’s tempered as it moves through its line. What’s not to like? Good
