2011 De Bortoli La Boheme Act Two Dry Pinot Rosé

When I tasted the 2010 release of this it had an element of novelty on its side – old oak and lees stirring along with a little Pinot Gris added an exotic touch. It’s interesting to come back to such a wine when the style and techniques used aren’t so foreign. That initial thrill is perhaps lessened but the satisfaction remains. Not a bad result really.

Plenty of texture and flavour. A little Turkish apricot vies with red fruit, musk, spice and almond. Pleasantly slippery in the mouth then roughed up and pinched into shape on the dry finish. Personality at this price point should always be applauded. Good – Very Good
