Wirra Wirra’s entry level red blend is currently at the top of its game. The 2009 release was great value for money and this 2010 is simply an impressive wine full stop.
It smells juicy and fresh. Blackberry pastilles, vanilla and violets. Perhaps a little licorice and leaf too. Oak is underplayed leaving the fruit room to move unhindered along its path until it reaches a spicy conclusion. It’s not overly long or intense but it is beautifully balanced and highly drinkable.
