Sangiovese is hardly synonymous with the Barossa Valley. I think this is the first time I have encountered such an intersection of grape and place. And I think place wins out.
Lifted dark cherry veers into blackberry with hints of vanilla, dried herbs and nuts. A utilitarian structure with a decent rush of acidity and slightly furry tannin. Not a very complex wine. Still, after a stint in the decanter, there’s a fair measure of sweet fruited, easy drinking enjoyment on offer here . Average – Good
