Part of Howard Park’s new ‘Regional Series’. My understanding is that this is made mostly for on-premise sales but you’ll find a few bottles leaking out through the smaller, independent retailers. It’s sourced from the Mount Barker subregion of The Great Southern. Wild ferment in tank and older barrels with nine months on lees.
Aromas of ripe melon, grapefruit, white flowers, hazelnut, struck match and yoghurt. Palate richness (fruit and caramel) is adjusted by the presence of solids, grapefruit and slightly firm, spicy oak. Not bad but it lacks the precision to raise it above a high quality quaffing level. Good
