Orange, NSW 13.0% Screwcap $17
Well, the website says 13.5% but the bottle says otherwise. Not sure what to make of that. Stonefruits, nuts, nougat and cream aromatically speaking. The spice and the oak are tasty. The palate is not overly fruity leaving the hazlenuts, almonds and nougat to share center stage.
The mid-palate offers up some creamy aspects, but the texture leaves me unexcited. The length is very good. You know, I’m just not convinced. But the pricing is fine and it’s not devoid of character nor admirable traits. I just personally can’t rave about it. I’ve read others rate it. So it could be I’ve missed something.
It’s fine but on the day it just didn’t do it for me.
