Clare 13.5% Screwcap $16- Tasted ?/6/09
So Leasingham is up for sale and all rugs must go by the end of August. Thanks Mr Constellation. Although, on the back of this wine it worries me less (not much less! I’m still very angry). A rather underwhelming memory of the experience of young romance, which, in hindsight, wasn’t particularly exciting anyway.
Just a little too simple, a little too sweet, a little too vanillin, a little too precise and lacking in personality. Some nice raspy tannins, but soft, creamy and giving mouthfeel. Upon opening there was raspberry, vanilla, and liquorice strap (red). Yawn. With time it picked up a little palate weight and plum. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it wasn’t really that exciting. I could easily pin down an exact date for when I tasted it, but like dating a young romance, in hindsight it doesn’t seem worth it. Roughly, the end of 6/09
Reminded me of a young, well-dressed, unpretentious uni-sex highschool girl who is in love, wants to please her partner and has applied her make up with a touch too much precision. Fine enough, maybe more, but looking back on my TN card, it’s a feeling of disappointment I am remembering. It can have an 86
“I ain’t sayin‘ you treated me unkind,
You coulda done better but I don’t mind,
You just kinda wasted my precious time,
But don’t think twice, it’s alright”- Dylan
Edit: The Leasingham website sucks, completely annoying and out of date (probably has less typos than mine though). Constellation have already let this baby sail.
