2013 Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay

imageThe quality and value for money of the Hoddles Creek Estate Chardonnay might become monotonous if it weren’t for the vintage variations captured so deftly each year.

We’re very much in the white peach and ruby grapefruit spectrum with this release. More forward with something riper…perhaps fig. It opens with a significant whiff of wheat and nuts, while oak and lees act as perfect foils to the primary fruit. Hints of green apple and a fair amount of spice. Gentle mealiness in the mouth. Delicious. A no-brainier. 93

I am looking forward to this. Really enjoyed the sulphide funk in the 2012. As you say, excellent value and quality.
