2013 Mandoleto Catarrato Terre Sicilia IGT

imageIs it me or is the current wave of enthusiasm for Sicilian reds not quite matched by that shown for Sicilian whites? Imported by Fourth Wave Wine.

Smells pretty much like eating a green apple by the sea. Brine. Lime over apples on the palate. A suggestion of something more tropical. Refreshing but the acidity is sheathed. Friction is a touch unyielding on the back-palate and there’s not a great deal of length but otherwise it’s all systems go. 87
