2013 Dog Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

imageWhenever I taste a quality Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc I wonder why I don’t drink them more often. Of course there’s a lot of swill out there but that applies to any variety and any region.

Crisp acidity rather than sharp. It’s a refreshing sort of wine. Those oft derided herbs, capsicum and snow peas are in perfect balance with citrus and passionfruit flavours. A little body and good flow. There’s detail and no one element dominates. Pretty good length too. A wonderful demonstration of a synergy too often thoughtlessly mocked. 93
