2013 Yalumba Y Series Pinot Grigio

yseries_yalpgYalumba’s Y Series Pinot Grigio has been a consistent performer over the last four or so years. It’s more Gris than Grigio…as the Pinot G Style Spectrum™ on the back of the label suggests.

Fairly luscious but for all intents and purposes dry (3.2g/l). It smells of musky lavender oil, citrus blossom and poached pears. The palate adds sweet spice and a mere hint of brine. Somewhere between creamy and oily with faint phenolics. Not that much length but what’s here is bang on. 88
