2013 Boireann La Cima Barbera Rosata

lb 001There was bugger all left to taste at Boireann when I dropped in earlier this month. No surprise that the 2012 releases had sold quickly. Some of the 2013s looked smart in barrel, particularly the Shiraz Viognier. Therese Stark was kind enough to send me on my way with a bottle of this wine which I slipped into a Rosé tasting.

Faint fragrances; raspberry, red cherry, dried herbs with the tease of brown grass and tomato bush. Has some fruit weight in the mouth and plenty of savoury interplay. Slightly sticky (a tactile sensation, not a reference to sweetness) and lacking in flow but good. 88
