2011 M&S Ogier D’Ampuis La Rosine Syrah

la rosineEstablished in 1983 with the M&S standing for the father and son team Michel & Stéphane Ogier. Grapes for the La Rosine are sourced from vineyards that lie between the Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu. Vines are about 15 years of age. Imported by Beaune and Beyond.

Smooth operator. Silky texture with deep, dark cherry and plum, veal jus, aniseed and brown spice. Fragrance and intensity with a degree of finesse. Mineral acidity and fine, grippy tannin. Perhaps not a long-term option but already offers a lot of pleasure. 91
