2006 Champagne G.H.Mumm Millésime

gh mummPolished, glossy, showy big house Champagne. It impresses in its own way. 64% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay…and it does feel, smell and taste Pinot dominant.

Autolytic power and depth. Strawberries and dark plums, danish and biscotti, roasted hazelnuts, apple and stonefruit. It has structure and length. A bit of spice too. Not really exciting drinking it but should have the cashed up crowd frothing at the mouth. 92

  1. Probably being smashed down by those Toorak Cowboy’s in The Bird Cage this week.

  2. GW says:

Tried this briefly at an in-store tasting (while I was buying more 2002 Pol Roger). Pretty good. Think I’d agree with the score.
