2012 Torzi Matthews Schist Rock Shiraz

torzi schist rockFermented using 25% whole bunches and they seem a little more evident on the palate and in the bouquet this year. Still balanced though and the characters they impart sink into the wine once it sits in the glass a little while.

Apart from the herbs (specifically mint) the Eden Valley is clearly on show. Violets and lilacs, vital boysenberried fruit. Alluring perfume all up. Peanut, spice and cocoa aftertaste. A lovely set of composed and layered tannins along with becoming acidity. Smashable and very good value. 90
