2012 Chapel Hill il Vescovo White

chapel hill il vescovo whiteA blend of Savagnin, Verdelho and Roussanne with the latter expressing itself very clearly. Textured, deftly phenolic and interesting to drink. Probably even better with a plate of the right food.

Smells of nectarines, tropical fruits, leesy funk and cupboard spices with suggestions of herbal tea, ginger and fennel pollen. The palate adds a thrust of citrus. Good flow and form. Moves beyond dry, fruit driven white territory into an area that centres on mouthfeel and is more savoury and vinous in general. I rather enjoyed this. 90
