2012 The Armchair Critic Chardonnay

armchair chardQuality Chardonnay for twenty bucks or less. It has personality, attractive cool climate Tumbarumba fruit and plenty of creamy texture to counteract a spine of citrus tinged acidity.

It takes a little air for the fog of lees to lift but once it does pristine fruit flavour comes clearly into view. Green apple, white peach and melon is met by a dose of nougat oak. Loads of cheesy, nutty body contribute a savoury dimension. Grapefruit driven definition. It’s got good length even if that’s not its greatest virtue. Worth checking out. 90
