2013 De Bortoli Sacred Hill Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

sacred hill sem savI don’t really drink De Bortoli’s Sacred Hill range but when they’re on song they deliver good value for minimum expenditure. This is 93% Semillon from the Riverina and 7% Sauvignon from the King Valley. Not that I suspect its target market cares.

Fresh and crisp, yes, but with subtle leesy texture that you probably shouldn’t expect for seven dollars. Has a bit of length too although I found a distracting saccharin quality to the finish. Citrus and grass to the fore, subdued tropicals filling out the package. The acidity is bracing rather than biting. Not bad. 86
