2012 Teusner The Gentleman Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

teusner 012This is the first Cabernet Sauvignon I’ve tasted from Teusner (although not the first they have made).

It’s fresh fruited, lively and just on medium-bodied with cedar-pine oak a minor contributor. Cassis, boysenberry, raspberry and spice. Textured tannin too. Problem is that it smells and tastes overwhelmingly of creamed corn. In an unbalanced and unpleasant manner. Was just as strong on the second day of tasting. What a shame. 86

  1. Geoff GARRATT says:

Suggestive of Corn on the Cab ?

  2. Canned corn – very DMS to smell and taste.
