2009 Chandon Blanc de Blancs

chandon blanc de blancsThe Chardonnay grapes for this were sourced from a myriad of cool climate regions within Australia; the Yarra Valley, the Strathbogie Ranges, Macedon, Adelaide Hills, King Valley and Tasmania. It spent 30 months on lees and tastes dry with a dosage of 7g/l.

Sits very much within the delicate, floral Blanc de Blancs paradigm. Lemon citrus, white stonefruit flesh, honeysuckle, toasted nuts and cut green apples with yeasty, shortbread notes providing a little depth and complexity. The finish is chalky and lacks some textural finesse but the palate is otherwise giving and slightly creamy. 91 Good
