2010 Henty Farm Pinot Noir

Another top effort from Adam Wadewitz and Jonathon Mogg’s Henty Farm project. I’m looking forward to see what Adam brings to Seppelt but until then I’ll bide my time and enjoy these wines.

Full of dense, dark cherry flavour and foresty undergrowth with sweet cinnamon spice providing a great counterpoint. Despite a somewhat fleshy, velvet-like mouthfeel it retains agility. Fine, integrated acidity keeps proceedings on track at all times. A herbal thread runs through it and there’s a suggestion of aniseed as well. Feathery tannin stacks up as you drink. Delicious now but should improve over the next few years at least. Smartly priced for what’s on offer. 93 Very Good – Excellent
