2010 Wirra Wirra Church Block

Wirra Wirra Church Block is more than just a wine. It’s an institution – one that has played a pivotal role in igniting the vinous passions of many, myself included. Great to see it in such top shape.

A blend of 50% Cabernet, 32% Shiraz and 18% Merlot, this release possesses the tell-tale freshness that seems to mark the better efforts from the 2010 vintage in McLaren Vale. Blackcurrant jelly and mulberry rubs up against chocolate covered hazelnuts, gentle clove spiced oak and cherry. Regionally plush but eminently balanced and drinkable, it has all bases covered and should age well over the mid-term at least. Happy times. Very Good
