2010 The Story Henty Estate Vineyard Shiraz

The first ‘The Story’ Shiraz to be sourced from outside of the Grampians region and it may just be Rory Lane’s finest to date. Henty huh? Who would have thunk it?

Exemplary in its elegance, perfume and purpose. Shiraz florals and rainforest vegetation merge together to produce the most intoxicating of scents. Fresh, insistent red fruits alongside darker cherry with shades of coal-like minerality. It’s linear more than it is layered though, marked by fine acidity and compelling length. Supple tannin completes the nigh faultless architecture. Pure medium-bodied sophistication. I’ve got two bottles in the cellar already and they’ll stay there for quite a while yet. It should age superbly. Excellent – Exceptional

  1. Paul says:

Jeremy, do you know if these are available at the Wine Experience anymore?

  2. Paul – they still have some of the 09 Associates Shiraz. I think they have the 09 Westgate too. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any 2010s from The Story at Wine Experience yet. I believe Rory is making a trip back to Brisbane in May so hopefully there will be wider availability after that. Grand Central Station bottle-o in the city has the ’10 Temperance Shiraz, which I’ve not tasted yet. Hope that is of some help.

Yes. Thanks. Always seems hard to track down their full range without having to order a case.

  3. Joanne Hughes says:

Hi, Had a couple of glasses with dinner while visiting Melbourne recently. Can I get this wine in NZ.? If so where.?

    Thanks
    Joanne

  4. Hi Joanne. Unfortunately I can’t be of assistance on the issue of availability but it’s probably worth emailing Rory Lane. Good luck! It’s a beautiful wine.
